BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES

The International Trade Centre’s (ITC) She Trades Initiative rallies key stakeholders including governments, the private sector, financiers, business support organizations, international organizations, and others to expand economic opportunities for women-led businesses.

ITC She Trades and the UPS Foundation have joined forces in their shared mission to foster the digital leadership and economic growth of women-led businesses and young women. In Nigeria, the She Trades and UPS Women Exporters Programme works to provide training, skills, and growth opportunities that allow Nigerian women entrepreneurs to better understand and benefit from the digital economy. The programme is implemented in collaboration with the She Trades Hub in Nigeria, hosted by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.

The workshop provides participants with knowledge and skills in advanced technologies including artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital marketing, enabling them to thrive in the ever-evolving digital space. Participants will also benefit from valuable networking opportunities and establish connections with peers and potential partners in markets and finance.

The programme also targets young women, acknowledging their role as changemakers, and aims to provide them with both soft and hard skills to establish growth-oriented enterprises that will ultimately become catalysts for greater inclusivity.

At the end of the event, the participants will:

  • Gain insights into the challenges and opportunities of digitalization in global trade.
  • Develop essential digital literacy, encompassing AI, data analytics, and digital marketing.
  • Receive practical guidance on integrating digital tools into their business operations.
  • Gain an understanding of their financial requirements and pathways for raising funds.
  • Engage in networking with fellow women entrepreneurs and potential market and financial partners.
  • Young women will explore innovation and design thinking while acquiring crucial soft skills such

as communication, teamwork, and confidence-building.
