SHE CREATES CAMP
She Creates Camp
The SHE CREATES CAMP is an award winning STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths) camp programme for girls, aged 13 to 17 years. Since its inception in 2008 the camp has been a residential camp in Lagos and after expansion to other states it has featured non residential camps for girls in Ibadan(Oyo State), Awka (Anambra State), Ilorin (Kwara State).
The camp programme helps to intervene early, combat stereotypes and tackle the technology gender divide. The camps in 2025 was held in Lagos(residential) , Kwara (Ilorin State) and Awka (Anambra State).
SheCreates Camp – Empowering the Next Generation of Girls in STEM
The SheCreates Camp, delivered by W.TEC, is a transformative summer learning programme designed to inspire, educate, and empower secondary-school girls with world-class Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) skills. Since its launch in 2008, the camp has become a living institution — a place where thousands of girls discover their potential, build lifelong confidence, and grow into tech-driven innovators.
Over the years, the camp has been hosted across multiple Nigerian states, including Lagos, Kwara Anambra, reaching girls from both urban and underserved communities. Today, the SheCreates Camp proudly records over 640 girls trained in its residential and non-residential editions, with alumnae excelling in university, careers, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.
Our History
What began in 2008 as a small summer experiment by W.TEC has grown into one of Nigeria’s most respected and long-standing STEM camps for girls. The goal is simple: give girls hands-on access to technology at a critical age when confidence gaps often form.
From the first edition in Lagos to regional expansions, partnership-backed editions, and virtual camps during the pandemic, SheCreates has continuously innovated to meet the needs of Nigerian girls. Many alumnae now pursue degrees in engineering, computer science, architecture, digital design, medicine, and other STEM fields — a testament to the camp’s lasting impact.

A Living Institution of Inspiration
The SheCreates Camp has become more than a summer programme — it is a legacy of empowerment. We see this in inspiring full-circle stories like that of Arafah, an alumna who went from being a shy teenager discovering her first line of code at camp to a confident young woman returning as a mentor to inspire the next generation. Stories like hers reflect the true impact of SheCreates: girls who are inspired now grow up to inspire others.
Our Vision
To build a pipeline of confident, skilled, and innovative young women who will shape Africa’s technological future, lead in STEM careers, and uplift their communities.
