On Tuesday, September 11th, the She Can with ICT programme launched its 2024–2025 training cycle. This six-month virtual programme, powered by W.TEC in partnership with ACT Foundation, features a series of eight sessions per cohort, covering five core subjects, mentorship, and a business masterclass. The sixth month will culminate in a graduation, where top participants will be invited to pitch for seed funding. The programme is designed to equip young female entrepreneurs with essential digital skills, it very first session began with an enthusiastic group of over 100 participants who are eager to embark on this empowering journey.

First Session: Introduction to Digital Marketing

The first session facilitated by Miracle Obiorah, Social content strategist focused on Introduction to Digital Marketing, setting the tone for the transformative training series. This foundational module opened the participants’ eyes to the critical role that digital marketing plays in modern entrepreneurship. The session highlighted several key areas:

  • Importance of Online Visibility: Participants learned that, in today’s digital age, a strong online presence is a vital asset for growing a business and reaching a global audience.
  • Strategies for Building an Online Presence: The session explored practical steps for crafting a unique digital brand identity, using tools like social media, websites, and email marketing to engage customers.

In a highly interactive format, the facilitators broke down the complexities of digital marketing, simplifying them into actionable steps that the participants could readily apply to their businesses. Through discussions, real-life examples, and hands-on activities, the attendees began to understand how to leverage digital platforms to promote their products and services effectively.

Positive Feedback from Participants

The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed excitements about the newfound knowledge and how it would impact their entrepreneurial journeys. They particularly appreciated the practicality of the training, with one participant commenting: “This session has opened my eyes to how much potential I can unlock for my business by simply creating a strong online presence.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn valuable skills that would otherwise be inaccessible. The interactive nature of the training fostered a sense of community, with many participants forming connections that will likely extend beyond the programme.

Looking Ahead

As the She Can with ICT programme progresses, participants will deepen their knowledge in areas such as social media marketing, e-commerce, and digital tools for business growth. With an ambitious goal of reaching 5,000 participants by the programme’s conclusion, the initiative is set to create a profound impact. Additionally, the top five participants will be awarded seed funding of N100,000 each, boosting their entrepreneurial journeys. W.TEC and ACT Foundation remain committed to empowering these women to not only survive but thrive in today’s fast-paced digital economy.
