The Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) successfully hosted the W.TEC Academy Ondo Graduation Ceremony on April 4th, 2025, at Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School Hall, Akure. The event marked a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to equip young girls with essential technology skills, fostering their interest in STEM fields.
A Day of Celebration and Inspiration
The graduation ceremony welcomed students, educators, dignitaries, and tech industry experts, creating a dynamic environment to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the academy’s participants. The event commenced with an exhibition showcasing innovative projects by students, followed by an inspiring keynote address on “Exploring Possible Careers in Tech” delivered by Oluwakemisola Ajayi, a renowned tech freelancer.
Acknowledging Excellence and Hard Work
The day also featured project presentations and competitions, where students from various schools, including CAC, ST Peters, Adegbola, Fiwasaye, and Akure High School, demonstrated their skills and creativity. This segment highlighted the academy’s impact in nurturing future female tech leaders through practical learning and mentorship.

✅ Welcome remarks by Mrs. Oreoluwa Lesi, Executive Director of W.TEC, and MYSD representatives, emphasizing the importance of digital education for young girls.

✅ Goodwill messages from the Head of Service and School Principals, acknowledging the transformation of the students through the program.

Recognizing Outstanding Achievements
The event culminated with an award ceremony, where certificates and prizes were presented to outstanding participants by Mrs. Lesi and other distinguished guests. The occasion concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Monsurat Oshinfisan of W.TEC and the Director of MYSD, appreciating the support of stakeholders, parents, and partners in making the academy a success.
