About W.TEC Early Innovators

Early Innovators refers to the children’s technology summer camps and programmes run by the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) in Nigeria. The initiative is designed to introduce young children to technology, coding, robotics, and STEM through fun, hands-on, and project-based learning, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills for a future in digital innovation.

 

What It Is

  • A Tech Camp for Kids: W.TEC Early Innovators is a technology-focused programme created specifically for young learners.
  • Ages: The programme is generally designed for children aged 5 to 10 years, and is open to both boys and girls.
  • Focus: The camps provide a fun, creative, and practical introduction to technology, science, engineering, and STEM concepts.

Activities & Learning

Children participate in engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and experimentation, including:

  • Building robots and exploring basic electronics
  • Learning programming through game design, animation, and video creation
  • Hands-on projects that promote creative problem-solving
  • Teamwork-based activities that support collaboration
