Kwara State, Nigeria – August 2026
The Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) proudly announces the successful conclusion of its Kwara State She Creates Camp, as detailed in the Kabirat kwara report. Operating as part of the 19th edition of the programme, the camp was held under the general theme “AI, Future Skills and Digital Readiness”. This one-week, non-residential camp took place from August 3rd to 8th, 2026, and brought together 16 girls from both public and private schools.
About She Creates Camp
The overall “She Creates Camp” program equips secondary school girls with critical 21st-century STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) skills. The initiative empowers young girls to become innovators and future leaders in the digital economy. The purpose of the Kwara camp was to expand W.TEC’s impact beyond Lagos while equipping girls with practical technology, leadership, creative, and digital skills.
Programme Highlights
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in a wide array of subjects designed to build their technical and soft skills:

- Building a career in STEM
- Gender & Leadership
- Digital safety / cybersecurity
- Introduction to IOT and AI
- Team bonding (ice breakers)
- Developing an emergency distress app
