The Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) currently is holding it after school computer club programme for girls at select secondary schools in Ilorin. The programme is powered by Oracle

The programme which has entered its 2nd session is currently training participants digital design which the girls have wowed us with their project work for their 2nd term which just wrapped this week.

The participants at Ilorin apart from being treated to world class training have also been involved with other activities of W.TEC which includes Safer internet workshops to mark W.TEC’s 2019 Safer Internet Day event, where they were taught safer internet techniques. Also they organised a programme to honour their female teachers to mark W.TEC’s International Womens’ Day.

The girls of our Academy in Ilorin from 8 schools have indeed been well taught and engaged and they look forward to a more fun learning experience the Academy has been for them so  far.

The objective of the program is to support computer education of girls in public secondary schools to attract more girls to STEM education from an early stage.
