It was a proud and heartwarming moment for us at the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) as we officially presented our STEM Queen for 2025 – Miss W.TEC 2025, Nafisat Abubakar, to the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Education District IV, Mr. Osinaike Olusegun Olawale. Joining the visit was her proud principal, Mrs. Bankole Adeola of Wesley Senior High School, who shared in the celebration of Nafisat’s well-deserved recognition.
This remarkable achievement highlights the growing impact of W.TEC’s programmes within Lagos State Education District IV. We’re especially thrilled to note that District IV has produced the Best Overall Camp Participant three times in four years — and for two consecutive years! 🎉
During the presentation, Mr. Osinaike expressed his joy at this outstanding accomplishment and commended W.TEC for its continued efforts in inspiring and equipping girls with essential STEM skills. He reaffirmed his unwavering support for our mission to advance technology education across his district through impactful initiatives like the W.TEC Academy, our after-school computer programme designed to help girls in secondary schools build confidence, creativity, and competence in technology.
At W.TEC, we believe moments like these reflect the power of collaboration — between educators, students, and partners — in shaping a generation of girls ready to lead in science and technology.
Congratulations once again to Nafisat Abubakar, our shining STEM Queen for 2025, and to Lagos State Education District IV for their continued excellence and partnership in empowering young innovators!
