W.TEC recently wrapped up the 17th edition of its She Creates Camp, a two-weeks STEAM programme held from August 4th to 17th, 2024. With 19 enthusiastic participants, this camp was a remarkable platform for girls in secondary schools to engage in cutting-edge technology workshops, creative hands-on projects, and life skills sessions.

The camp aimed to increase the number of Nigerian women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic, while also nurturing their ability to create technology for learning and leadership. This year’s camp featured sessions on Environmental sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, Marine Engineering, Recycling, Solar Power, and more. Beyond the technical workshops, the girls also took part in an excursion to industry leaders like Wecyclers & Sonnex who focus on collecting and recycling waste product. In addition to the environmental focus, the camp offered a comprehensive set of workshops aimed at fostering personal and professional growth, sessions like Public Speaking, Emotional Intelligence, Etiquette, Financial Literacy and digital safety.
