Full Circle Impact: W.TEC Alumni Unite to Shape the Future of STEM and Support the Next Generation
The spirit of leadership, innovation, and community continues to thrive among alumni of the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) W.TEC Alumni, as they prepare to host a virtual alumnae reunion on 16 March 2026 at 6:00 PM.
More than just a reunion, this gathering represents a powerful moment of reflection, reconnection, and collective action. It will bring together amazing young women from across W.TEC programmes for a fun and meaningful time of connection — all in a warm and engaging online space filled with laughter, inspiration, and great conversations.
From Camp Participants to STEM Leaders
Over the years, SheCreates Camp has equipped girls with digital, technology, and leadership skills that have helped shape their academic and career journeys. Today, many alumni are pursuing—and excelling in—STEM pathways, including medicine, engineering, and other science and technology-related fields.
The camp experience not only introduced them to technical skills but also expanded their confidence, ambition, and vision for what is possible. What began as a summer learning experience has evolved into a lifelong community of young women committed to growth, excellence, and impact.
Importantly, this reunion will not only feature SheCreates Camp alumnae but also alumni from other W.TEC programmes, including SheCanWithICT and W.TEC Academy. Bringing together participants across programmes strengthens the broader W.TEC sisterhood and reinforces a shared mission of empowering girls through technology.
Paying It Forward: Alumni Supporting Scholarships
One of the most inspiring outcomes of the SheCreates Camp alumni network is their commitment to giving back. Many alumni have contributed financially to support scholarships for new camp participants, ensuring that more girls—especially those who may not otherwise have access—can benefit from the same life-changing experience.
This culture of giving reflects a deep sense of gratitude and responsibility. Having experienced firsthand how the camp shaped their aspirations, alumni are now actively investing in creating those same opportunities for others.
Strengthening Community Through the 2026 Virtual Reunion
The upcoming virtual reunion is all about reconnecting, sharing experiences, celebrating journeys, and supporting one another. Even though the meeting is online, the goal is to create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere where alumnae can meaningfully engage across different cohorts and programmes.
Key highlights of the reunion will include:
- Reconnecting and sharing personal and professional growth stories
- Exploring how alumnae can support one another academically, professionally, and personally
- Aligning on ways to promote and support the upcoming SheCreates Camp in August 2026
- Strengthening alumni engagement as part of W.TEC’s long-term sustainability strategy
- Identifying opportunities for mentorship and peer support
In addition, selected alumni from SheCreates Camp, SheCanWithICT, and W.TEC Academy will be onboarded into the newly inaugurated Girls Advisory Council. This onboarding marks an important milestone in expanding youth leadership within W.TEC and ensuring that diverse programme voices are represented in decision-making spaces.
Alumni Leadership and Representation
Several SheCreates Camp alumni already serve on the W.TEC Girls Advisory Council, providing valuable insights that help shape programmes and ensure they remain relevant, impactful, and youth-centered. The inauguration of new council members from across programmes further strengthens this leadership pipeline.
Their voices, perspectives, and lived experiences are instrumental in strengthening W.TEC’s programmes and ensuring that they continue to meet the evolving needs of girls and young women in a rapidly changing digital world.
Building a Legacy of Empowerment
The SheCreates Camp alumni community represents the long-term impact of sustained investment in girls’ education and empowerment. Their journey—from campers to STEM students, mentors, donors, advisors, and council members—illustrates the power of opportunity and the ripple effects it creates.
As they prepare to reunite on March 16, alumnae are not only celebrating how far they have come but also recommitting to support those who will follow in their footsteps.
Through their leadership, generosity, and continued engagement, W.TEC alumnae are building a lasting legacy—one where empowered girls grow into empowered women who uplift others, strengthen communities, and shape the future of STEM.
