In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) proudly joined the global movement to amplify girls’ voices and inspire them to become future leaders.
As part of our outreach, W.TEC volunteer and alumna of the SheCanWith ICT Programme, Ms. Habeebah, visited Amao College, Akingbile Moniya, Ibadan, where she trained and inspired 150 girls to believe in their potential and lead positive change in their communities.
During her engaging session, Ms. Habeebah reminded the girls that although life presents challenges, they can still rise above them through hard work, education, and determination. She encouraged them to stay focused in school, seek mentorship, and serve as shining examples for others.
Drawing inspiration from the remarkable journeys of outstanding Nigerian women such as Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Amina Mohammed, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, she illustrated how resilience, excellence, and courage can lead to global recognition and impact. Her message was clear—greatness is achievable when girls dare to dream and take bold action toward their goals.
At W.TEC, we are proud to see our alumnae like Ms. Habeebah giving back to their communities and inspiring the next generation of girls. Through our programmes, we continue to empower girls to embrace technology, leadership, and lifelong learning, equipping them to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
Because at W.TEC, we know that the girl you are today is the change you lead tomorrow.
