On Thursday, July 11, 2024, the Lagos State Science Research and Innovation Council (LASRIC) held its inaugural meeting for the newly re-inaugurated board. Among the distinguished council members is Oreoluwa Lesi, the Executive Director of W.TEC. This marks a significant milestone in her journey of fostering science, innovation, and research in Lagos State.
The Mission of LASRIC
LASRIC is dedicated to catalysing science, innovation, and research, aiming to elevate Lagos State to new heights. Over the past four years, LASRIC has made remarkable strides, including:
- Creating over 500 jobs by supporting innovative startups.
- Assisting over 70 research and development initiatives.
- Securing the Lagos government’s first patent through a multidisciplinary team from the University of Lagos working on the Ambubag Ventilator.

The re-inaugurated council is set to deepen its focus on advancing innovation and technology, enhancing the quality of life for Lagosians.
