Empowering Women Through Digital Skills: Highlights from W.TEC’s She Can With ICT Programme
The She Can With ICT training programme, a collaborative initiative between W.TEC and ACT Foundation, successfully equipped women in the fashion and beauty industries across Nigeria and Africa with essential digital skills. The programme, which was conducted virtually, provided participants with in-depth training in digital marketing, e-commerce, content creation, financial literacy, and business automation to enhance their businesses and careers in the digital economy.
Graduates Giving Back Through Mentorship
As part of activities marking International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, participants of the She Can With ICT programme extended the impact of their training by holding step-down mentorship sessions for young girls in their respective communities. Reports from across Nigeria and other African countries highlighted that these mentorship events inspired and equipped young girls with knowledge about technology, business, and entrepreneurship.
In various locations, participants shared their experiences and guided the next generation of female entrepreneurs on the importance of digital literacy in today’s world. Young girls in communities from Lagos to Kano, Port Harcourt to Accra, had the opportunity to learn first-hand from women who have successfully integrated technology into their businesses.
Recognizing Our Impactful Participants
W.TEC extends its sincere appreciation to all the participants of the She Can With ICT programme for their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to paying it forward. Their efforts to mentor and uplift young girls in their communities demonstrate the power of knowledge-sharing and community development.
Special appreciation also goes to ACT Foundation, whose invaluable support made this initiative possible, and to the facilitators and mentors who played key roles in equipping these women with relevant digital skills.
The impact of this programme continues to grow, and we are proud to see our alumni taking active roles in shaping the future of women in technology and business. We look forward to seeing more women leverage digital tools for success and create a lasting impact in their communities.
