Staying Safe Online
About the Staying Safe Online programme
Welcome to W.TEC’s Staying Safe Online programme. The programme focuses on equipping beneficiaries with Cyber Safety Techniques for girls and women.
At W.TEC, we believe that everyone has the right to use the internet and technology safely and responsibly, without the fear of cyber threats. This programme is designed to focus on equiping girls and women with the necessary skills to protect themselves online.
In addition, we deem this programme special due to the fact that Cyber safety is important because the internet has become an integral part of our daily lives. It is a platform for socializing, learning, working, and entertainment. However, it can also be a dangerous place where cybercriminals can steal personal information, harass, bully, and commit other online crimes.
The programme for W.TEC is operated majorly twice a year for the following:
1. Safer Internet Day (Marked February 7th)
2. 16 Days of Activism (November 20th – December 15 )
