In July 2025, the W.TEC Academy team embarked on a series of strategic visits to our Academy centres in Kwara and Ondo States. These visits were aimed at strengthening relationships with our partners, assessing the ongoing implementation of our programmes, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance the learning experience for our participants.

W.TEC Academy Ondo State Visit – Akure
In Akure, the capital of Ondo State, the team paid courtesy visits to key stakeholders, including the Permanent Secretary and the Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. These meetings provided an opportunity to share updates on the impact of the W.TEC Academy in the state and to explore areas of potential collaboration and support.
The team also visited five of our partner schools in the region ( Adegbola high school, C.A.C Grammar school, ST Peters Unity school, Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, Akure high school) where we engaged with school principals, ICT teachers, and W.TEC instructors. These interactions offered valuable insights into the progress of the students, challenges faced during programme delivery, and suggestions for improvement.

Kwara State Visit, Ilorin and Offa
In Ilorin, the W.TEC team met with the Kwara AGILE( Kwara Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment) team as well as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovations. Discussions focused on the digital education landscape in the state and how W.TEC’s programmes align with government initiatives to build digital skills among youth, especially girls.

The team proceeded to Offa, where we visited three of our five W.TEC Academy centres in the area. The objective was to assess the implementation of the programme, gather feedback from facilitators and students, and identify ways to improve programme delivery and learning outcomes.
One of the major highlights of the Kwara visit was an exciting excursion to the ONE Innovation Hub in Offa. The event brought together 100 girls from various W.TEC Academy centres for an engaging and interactive learning session. The experience was both enlightening and inspiring, with the participants expressing great enthusiasm about the opportunity to explore innovation and technology in a practical setting.
