REFLECTIONS FROM W.TEC’s 2024 IWD WEBINAR ON INSPIRING INCLUSION
On March 8th, 2024, as the world came together to mark International Women’s Day, W.TEC hosted an empowering webinar themed “Inspire Inclusion: Strategies for Diversity and Equality”. This virtual gathering became a beacon of inspiration, bringing together a panel of distinguished speakers who shared their insights and paved the way for actionable change in the realms of inclusion and gender diversity.
W.TEC CELEBRATES 2024 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN KWARA STATE
W.TEC Academy in Kwara State proudly joined the global celebration of International Women’s Day by hosting a special event at St. Anthony Secondary School in Ilorin on March 8th, 2023. With the theme “Inspire Inclusion,” our goal was to empower teenage girls in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and inspire them to pursue careers in STEM.

We were honored to welcome Adaora Nwodo, an esteemed software engineer and the visionary founder of NexaScale, to our W.TEC Academy. Adaora’s visit was a pivotal moment for our after-school computer club for girls, providing invaluable insights and inspiration to our participants.
IWD EVENT RECAP – TECH SENSITIZATION AND ADVOCACY IN IMO STATE
Recently, one of our volunteers, Victoria Erumi sensitized 67 young girls in a school in Ngor Okpala, Imo state as part of our IWD event.
The IWD talk majored on the meaning of STEM, its importance, the opportunities it brings and the possibilities of thriving in each of the STEM fields as a woman.
