Celebrating National Spotlight on W.TEC’s Impact and Vision

We are excited to celebrate recent media recognition from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) — Nigeria’s largest institutional news platform — for spotlighting the impactful work and growing vision of the Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC).

Through two recent feature publications, NAN highlighted W.TEC’s continued commitment to empowering girls and women through technology, digital skills, STEM education, mentorship, and sustainable partnerships.

In one of the reports, NAN featured W.TEC’s plans to deepen efforts around bridging the gender gap in technology and strengthening collaborations within the STEM ecosystem. The feature spotlighted our ongoing commitment to ensuring more girls and women gain access to opportunities, skills, and support needed to thrive in today’s digital world.

Another feature focused on W.TEC’s growing emphasis on alumnae engagement and strategic partnerships as part of our long-term sustainability vision in an increasingly competitive non-profit landscape. The report recognised the importance of community, collaboration, and shared ownership in sustaining meaningful social impact.

For over 18 years, W.TEC has remained dedicated to nurturing the next generation of female technology creators, entrepreneurs, and leaders across Nigeria. From after-school STEM clubs and technology camps to entrepreneurship training and digital inclusion programmes, our mission continues to evolve with the changing needs of girls and women in the digital age.

Being recognised by a respected national platform such as NAN is not only an honour — it is also an opportunity to amplify the urgent conversations around gender inclusion in technology, digital literacy, and future readiness for women and girls in Nigeria.

We sincerely appreciate the News Agency of Nigeria for helping share our story and spotlighting the importance of investing in women and girls through technology and innovation.

As we continue expanding our programmes, partnerships, and impact in 2026, we remain committed to building a future where more girls and women are equipped not just to participate in the digital economy, but to lead and shape it.
